2 Straight Line Test
A term used to denote that the " straight line die " had been used to cut the sample for testing from the fabric. This die is principally employed for carpet fabrics. It measures 2.4-in. 3 Straight Wind
This term denotes the method of winding on to a double-flanged bobbin which leaves the yarn parallel as distinct from the barrel-shape. In this straight wind the " traverse " which lays the thread has a constant up and down motion at a uniform speed. -

Yarn that is reeled with a slow traverse. A quick-moving traverse motion gives cross-reeled yarn. -
